The Old Schoolhouse® welcomes new millennials planning to homeschool during 2021–22 school year
While vaccinated patrons are permitted to shop in big box stores without a mask, many children across the country will be required to wear a mask in school this fall. Although some areas of the country are loosening restrictions, a majority of school districts are remaining strict in their reopening policies. Children will no longer be allowed to attend the schools in the district they have been a part of their entire childhood if their parents do not force compliance.
A national poll recently asked, “Are you more or less likely to enroll your son or daughter in a homeschool, neighborhood homeschool co-op, or virtual school once the lockdowns are over?” Some 40.8% of parents said that they were more likely to pursue homeschooling or virtual school even when the pandemic was over, and 44.9% of these families were in the 18–34 age range. As school districts look for parent helpers in the classrooms, PTA members, and potential school board officials, they actually are leading their target demographic away from the educational model they are trying to build. Rather than addressing concerns of the millennial parents represented in their schools, they are presenting a one-size-fits-all method, leading many parents to pull their children from public school altogether.
As parents in the 18–34 age range begin pursuing online homeschooling options, SchoolhouseTeachers.com prepares for a large influx of new members for the fall semester. Over 400 courses are presented to parents, divided up by grade or subject. Parents are able to purchase a family subscription, providing immediate access for every member of the family. Virtual School Boxes give busy parents an open-and-go option, while an online course list allows parents to create a custom curriculum for their child.
“Our virtual education platform is a springboard for parents seeking to home educate their children for the 2021–22 school year. It provides a complete curriculum while offering electives, parent support, and additional resources to homeschool any PreK–12 child,” explained Gena Suarez, publisher of The Old Schoolhouse®, parent company of SchoolhouseTeachers.com.
To help parents prepare coursework throughout the summer months just in time for the 2021–22 school year, SchoolhouseTeachers.com is offering a deeply discounted rate on its quarterly membership option. Other full-price options are also available for families looking for monthly or annual payment plans.
