Opportunity for Homeschool Students to Get Published

The Canadian Schoolhouse is rounding up writers all throughout May.

A special writing event has been launched to encourage homeschool students to get writing and get published. The Canadian Schoolhouse, a division of The Old Schoolhouse®, has activities planned throughout the month of May to motivate homeschoolers to write and provide homeschool parents with resources to teach their children creative writing.

“We are looking forward to encouraging young writers with the Creative Writing Roundup,” said Gena Suarez, publisher of The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine. “We’ll be honored to publish the collection of writing submissions that will be coming in from homeschooled children.”

The Creative Writing Roundup includes activities hosted by the Canadian team and various free teaching aids, along with the opportunity for homeschoolers to submit their creative writing pieces. Writing submissions are accepted throughout the month on the theme “Animal Adventures.” Parents can sign up to receive the emails each Monday in May with details on the activities and writing encouragement on different topics such as encouraging reluctant writers, writing creatively about facts, and writing for a living.

Free digital giveaways will also be available to help parents with writing challenges and to encourage their young writers to produce different types of writing. Parents can get all the details by going on The Canadian Schoolhouse home page and entering their information on the sign-up form for the Creative Writing Roundup.
