This Week at SchoolhouseTeachers ~ What’s New in Schoolhouse Spelling, Beginning Violin, and Hands-on Hebrew

/ / Blog

Schoolhouse Spelling for Pre-K/K begins June with a look at og words. We’ll color, practice spelling our new words, and explore the word fog with a fun craft project! Lower and Upper Elementary will practice words using the letter combinations of er, ir, and ur. You’ll practice math skills while decoding your spelling words; practice definitions, rhyming words, and antonyms; divide your words into syllables; and other fun word activities.

Middle school and High school spelling will begin a month of exploring words and definitions from medical terminology. What exactly is a histamine and what jobs do ligaments and tendons do? Where would you find your phalanges and should you be concerned if someone is decubitus? Join us all this month and find out!

Do you have a child who wants to learn to play the violin, but you’re not sure where to start? How do you choose the right size instrument? Will your child enjoy the violin enough to justify the time and expense of lessons? Meet Nancy Blue and Strings of Praise! Her brand new Beginning Violin class will walk you through all the basics and have you beginning to play the violin in almost no time at all!

Hands-on Hebrew teacher Evonne Mandella begins her final month of Hebrew lessons with a collection of nature-themed words such as tree, grass, flower, water, and garden. Later this month, you’ll learn how to read a Hebrew prayer over the bread.
