Author Conservatory

The Author Conservatory is an online college alternative program where students learn the writing and business skills they need to get published and support themselves financially. Students are personally mentored by professional authors, editors, and entrepreneurs to hone the skills they need to pursue their dreams. By focusing on one-on-one coaching and a strategy that keeps students from becoming “starving artists,” instructors help aspiring authors pursue their dreams.

The Author Conservatory takes an old-fashioned approach to college tuition where the tuition is low enough that students can save the necessary money to get started within one year of working part-time (even with a minimum-wage job). Students don’t need to take on college debt in order to receive the career mentorship they’re looking for.

The Author Conservatory prioritizes a student's writing discipline and creative writing experience when admitting students to the program. As a result, ACT/SAT scores aren't required. To apply, students can fill out a free application and talk with an admissions advisor to determine if the Author Conservatory would be the right fit for them.
