What’s New in Lapbooking and Writing
To get us all ready for the start of baseball season, this month Niki Coburn McNeil has a Lapbook for us all about “Casey at the Bat.” She’ll explore the use of rhyme scheme, rhythm, and meter, as well as figurative language. You’ll make observations about the game and the title character, practice using strong adjectives, and write your own stanza for the poem as you build a lapbook all this month.
Janice Campbell’s newest Writing unit also looks at a famous poem, this time studying “How They Brought the Good News from Ghent to Aix” by Robert Browning. Experience what it would have been like to ride through the night with the three messengers.
