I’m glad God gave us the gift of music. How about you? I’m also glad there are many different types of music. If It Isn’t Baroque . . . The History of Western Music is a course that studies the history of the music in the western world, beginning with music in ancient times in Egypt, Greece, Rome, etc., and progressing through Biblical times, Medieval times, the Renaissance, and modern music. Taught by Michelle Martin, this course provides listening activities and activities to research this music more deeply. Students of all ages can even make some of the instruments from ancient and Biblical times. If you or your children like to sing, consider Joy Sikorski’s Music/Voice course. Study singers and songs from different genres and sing together as a family. This course endeavors to encourage you to be comfortable with the voice God has given you and to use it, regardless of what you or others may think of it. It helps the whole family understand the benefits that come from singing together. Thirteen months’ worth of printable lessons are broken into weekly units.
