A Method to the Madness
Do you ever feel like you’ve lost control when it comes to writing and science? Do you need a new method? Cheri Blomquist is teaching the Benjamin Franklin Writing Method on SchoolhouseTeachers.com. For middle schoolers and high schoolers who might be struggling with writing, this method is the same one Benjamin Franklin used to teach himself. Cheri discusses what makes good writing and details the method which consists of active reading, notetaking, narration, and analysis. She then teaches students how to put the method into practice with lessons on content, language, style, review. Her most recent lessons have students taking a look at different genres. When it comes to science, the Scientific Method is the basis of any good experimentation. Anna Crisostomo explains the scientific method to elementary and middle school students. She uses videos, activities, experiments, and reading assignments. This short six-lesson course details what the scientific method is, how we use it every day, how scientists use it, and then how to conduct a science fair project. Enjoy these courses on method and don’t let the madness take over!
