blog all hands on deck

Many of our kids learn best if they can work with their hands. Tinkers Club with Ed Sobey, PhD, is series of classes that encourage learning by creating, observing, and asking why something happened the way it did, then making changes to bring about the desired result. All of the lessons use, for the most part, ordinary objects that can be found or obtained easily. This class teaches the student to think and observe in order to solve problems that occur with their inventions, which will improve their deductive skills for other projects as well. There are nine challenges for students in elementary through middle school, including flying saucers, catapults, boats, LED experiments, cars, and more. Science Experiments with Jason Lindsey includes videos and step-by-step instructions. Jason provides an explanation of the science behind the experiments, and he gives clear safety protocols. Students in kindergarten through middle school can perform experiments like Microwave Light Bulb, Soda Can Shakeup, and Electric Play Dough with items found around the house. These classes will keep hands-on learners busy for a long time.
