Middle and high school students can learn about the past through Regan Barr’s Classical Archaeology course. Regan is an archaeologist, educator, author, and homeschool parent who has firsthand experience in the topics covered in this course. Students will study the ancient world, as presented through archaeological evidence, from a Biblical perspective. They will visit Ephesus and learn about the riot that took place there in the first century AD; discover the history of the Olympics and research the difference between Olympia and Olympus; explore the history of Pompeii and the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius; and examine ancient architecture such as the Parthenon, the Pantheon, and the Basilica in the context of history, setting, and purpose. This course, taken in full, is worth one high school credit. Printable lessons include links to numerous additional online resources and Regan Barr’s personal photos. Five individual units covering 17 weeks are available. Daily Math is geared toward students in grades 5-8 and includes a collection of worksheets and drills that teach and reinforce math skills. More than 200 supplemental math worksheets and drills cover basic skills such as place value, standard measurements, geometric shape identification, ordinal numbers, number patterns, and more; intermediate skills like factors, multiples, divisibility, prime numbers; fractions, decimals, and so on; and advanced skills, including area, perimeter, circumference, angles, finding the mean, and variables.
