Two popular full-year courses which are complete and available for immediate download take students behind the screens. Computer Science with Chris Yust teaches programming and Filmmaking with George Escobar gives students a behind-the-scenes view of the film industry. Chris begins his computer instruction with the basics—understanding the parts of your computer—and discusses in detail topics such as HTML, using images and videos, programming, variables and objects, Minecraft mods, JavaScript, functions, Lego Digital Designer, Tinkercad, Boolean Expressions, and Logic.ly. Students are provided step-by-step, colorful instructions and many activities to enhance their learning. Filmmaking is taught by the cofounder of Advent Film Group, George Escobar. George brings his expertise to this exciting class through which students can learn about the elements of filmmaking, the challenges for Christian filmmakers, various technical aspects of producing a film such as color and audio, and the specifics of jobs in the industry. The lesson for each week is in video format and comes with assignments to increase the student’s knowledge of the subject area.
