There is such a wide variety of teaching styles here on SchoolhouseTeachers.com. Your children are sure to find courses that appeal to their learning style, and you will find courses that present the information in a format that supports your role as teacher. Asia: Its People and History with Bonne Rose Hudson is one such course. Students will catch a glimpse of what it is like to be a Christian in seven of the countries of Asia—Laos, Bangladesh, Nepal, China, Iran, Indonesia, and Vietnam— as well as learn a brief history of the country and ways to pray for the persecuted Church. This class uses short stories, nonfiction accounts, worksheets, puzzles, and games to bring this information to the student. Through these alternative teaching tools, it is our hope that elementary and middle school students will recognize the need to pray for the persecuted church in Asia and around the world. Lapbooking with Niki Coburn McNeil is definitely a different way to teach. Through the creation of a lapbook, students in preschool through middle school can learn and retain so much more information. Specific help in creating a lapbook can be found under the Course Introduction tab. More than two dozen titles for various ages are currently available, and a new unit is posted each month. Suggested grade levels are provided; however, most are widely adaptable.
