I love puzzles! I love the feeling that I’ve accomplished something when I’ve completed one, whether it’s a crossword puzzle or a jigsaw puzzle (my two all-time favorite puzzle types). SchoolhouseTeachers.com has puzzles. Daily Puzzlers are language-based logic puzzles for students in 2nd through 12th grade. The puzzles vary in difficulty, which makes them perfect for a wide range of ages. The student must follow the directions in the puzzle to move step by step to the final answer. One hundred puzzles are available that can be used to help a student with comprehension in the reading and understanding of the instructions given, to encourage critical thinking to find the correct answers, and to practice vocabulary. Some puzzles are difficult enough we have to ask for help. Take the high school and college puzzle. If you are new to the process of choosing and applying for a college, some help might be warranted. This is where College Choice Guidance comes in. Andy Erickson, president of CollegeTicket and a homeschool father of three, provides bi-monthly lessons that walk high school students and their parents through the process of choosing a college, applying for financial aid, finding scholarships, and attending college. Ideally, this course will be used beginning in a student’s freshman year, but there are activities and instruction for every year of high school.
