blog clearing a path

I love to hike! I especially like it if the path is well marked. Then I know I can keep out of trouble. As high school students think about college, they may feel like their path is not clearly marked. However, they can cut away the weeds by reading through and completing the assignments found in College Choice Guidance. Andy Erickson, president of CollegeTicket and homeschool father of three, helps high school students choose a college and earn scholarships. The bi-monthly lessons walk high school students and their parents through the process of choosing a college, applying for financial aid, and attending college. Ideally, students will start working through this information during their freshman year to create the strongest application. It’s never too late to begin, but juniors especially will have some scrambling to do to plug any gaps. The course is designed to take students and their parents through four years of preparation. If you can’t physically venture out, let Julie Coney be your virtual tour guide in Everyday Explorers – Canada. Study interesting facts about Canada and its history. Visit a different province or territory each month and enjoy activities and links to virtually explore the areas being discussed. Map work is included as distances traveled are calculated and the weather is logged in the different areas. Activities are included for all grade levels so any age student can benefit from this course.
