Creating with Words and Art
Some artists create lithographs or sculptures. Others create art on the printed page. We’re going to study both methods this month on SchoolhouseTeachers.com. Everyday Easels will look at I and the Village by Marc Chagall and Central Park in Winter by Currier & Ives. We’ll learn about the ideas behind the works of art, the lives of the artists, and try to see art through fresh eyes as we look at the science, history, and mathematics found in these works.
Kim Kautzer’s Daily Writing prompts will stimulate kids to create with words—even if they don’t think writing is among their strongest skills. Kim’s writing prompts are fun and engaging, taking the everyday and making it intriguing. Who could resist the urge to write about waterproofing everyday objects or making an invention out of aluminum foil? Come with Kim and help their imaginations soar!
