Different Approaches to Writing
The abundance of writing courses available on SchoolhouseTeachers.com means you are sure to find one that will suit your child’s learning style. One of our supplemental gems is Writing: Advertising Copy with Sharon Watson. In three weeks, Sharon provides an introduction to the world of advertising. Students will practice anthropomorphism, comparing and contrasting, and using adjectives and adverbs. They will then create a product and produce an advertising campaign. Janice Campbell is spending the month of November looking at poetry in her Writing course. Elementary, middle school, and high school students will study and analyze William Butler Yeats’ “The Wild Swans at Coole.” They will then transform this work and create their own poetry. There are more than a dozen units from Janice Campbell accessible in the archives.
