blog effecting change

Let’s not kid ourselves; parenting is hard. We search for methods and suggestions that will help us. We want to do what’s right for our children. We sometimes change our style of parenting because what we’re doing just doesn’t seem to be working. Dr. Scott Turansky is the co-founder of the National Center for Biblical Parenting. He has provided SchoolhouseTeachers.com with Parenting Tips with Dr. Scott Turansky. This is a series of weekly articles designed to help parents understand what it means to parent the hearts of their children. This series breaks away from the common model of behavior modification and explores ways you can connect God’s truth with the hearts of your children to effect real, lasting change that makes an eternal difference. We also want to effect change in the way our children think about school. I know I do. To do this, it helps to know Your Child’s Learning Style. Valorie Delp is writing a series of monthly articles designed to help you identify and understand your child’s preferred learning style so that you can teach to his or her strengths and find creative approaches you can use to tackle weaknesses. Valorie will delve into the quirks and intricacies of different learning styles, suggest the methods that go with those learning styles best, and teach you how to adapt the curriculum you have to best fit your child’s learning style. If we know how our children learn best, we can teach in a way they will be excited to learn.
