Enhance the Entertainment Industry

/ / Blog, Schoolhouse Teachers

Have you or your children ever wished that the entertainment industry had more wholesome movies or television shows for families to watch? There seems to be a rise in the number of faith-based films in movie theatres these days, and people are flocking to see them. Now might be a great time for your kids to learn about making films and video and how media affects our culture, especially if they are thinking about a career in the entertainment field. Experience Videomaking with Evonne Mandella will get students’ feet wet when it comes to video. She will teach them how to make a video resume, use a video to showcase an event, and create a fictional movie trailer. She will also help students learn how to share their faith in their video. George Escobar’s Filmmaking class discusses the essential elements of filmmaking, the challenge for Christian filmmakers, and the various aspects of creating a film. He also spends quite a few weeks explaining the different professions within the filmmaking industry. Media Socialization with Dr. Lisa Dunne will provide a foundation for the student in regard to their faith and the role that media plays in our culture. This would be an excellent class for those aspiring to be filmmakers.
