Enjoy the Great Outdoors (Even If You’re Indoors)
One of SchoolhouseTeachers.com’s newest classes is Animal Science with Sonya Brouillette. This class, geared toward middle school and high school, has just begun, so it is not too late to get started. If you miss any lessons, they will be available online. Sonya will teach us about classification systems and journaling and then will dive into chordates and fishes. Assignments are provided along with videos that help to explain the topic. Consider Erin Dean’s Nature/Outdoors class. Many of the lessons are broken down into two separate tracks so that you can choose which animal you’d like to learn about. Some of the lessons focus on wild birds, wolves, coyotes, squirrels, snakes, bears, and ants. Erin has also provided lessons on cold weather climates, creeks, acorns, mosquitoes, ponds, the night sky, rainbows, and traveling seeds, among others. So much information is provided in these lessons that you will learn a great deal even if you are not able to find these things in your area.
