Fallacies and the Free Market
If you’ve ever found yourself scratching your head after watching a commerical, you might be wise to the fallacies employed by some advertisers. Every day we are bombarded with faulty reasoning and deception. Students can join Lisa Duffy for Logic a 15-week course that will help them to recognize the fallacies used by advertisers and debaters. Through this understanding and awareness, students will be able to better communicate and avoid being deceived. When we understand “how the world works,” we are in a better position to make good choices. Free Market Economics with Savannah Liston, a published author and expert in Austrian Economics, will help middle and high school students to build a strong foundation of economics. This is a 24-week course that includes video lectures, online readings, outside reading assignments, writing assignments, quizzes, a mid-term, and a final. Because students will be taking the mid-term this month, it is a great time to catch up with Savannah if you haven’t begun this course. All of the previous lessons are available on the site whenever you are ready to access it.
