Geography—Around the World and Asia

/ / Blog, Schoolhouse Teachers

SchoolhouseTeachers.com has a number of geography courses. Some allow the student to gain an overview of our world, while others speak more specifically to a certain area. Geography with Terri Johnson is a 12-month course that looks at geography from the perspective of various historical figures and groups: St. Patrick, Sacagawea, European Settlers, and Native Americans. The world during the time of the Golden Age of Greece and the Roman Empire is discussed, as well as The Holy Land, New Zealand, and 20th century topics, all with their respective maps as no geography course would be complete without maps! Asia: Safari with Bonnie Rose Hudson spends 38 weeks taking a detailed look at 36 different Asian countries. With tour guide Safari Saeed, students will have the opportunity to learn facts about each country, write a story, practice some spelling words, meet some interesting animals, and, of course, examine maps.
