Geo is from the Latin word meaning “earth.” SchoolhouseTeachers.com has lessons that teach us all about our earth. Pat Nurre’s Geology class has sixteen lessons exploring the world of rocks and minerals. One type of rock is called a geode, and Jason Lindsey’s latest Science lesson teaches us what a geode is and how to make your own from an ordinary egg. Watch his video and then download the instructions. This might be a good way to use up any extra eggs from Easter, if you have them! Geography with Tyler and Maggie Hogan is a year-long course that discusses our world. It is easily worth one credit for your high schooler if he or she does all of the assigned work. Download weekly lesson plans for learning about cultures and geography around the globe.
