We are fortunate to be living at such a time as this. So many great books have been written from which we and our children can obtain knowledge and understanding of literature and the world around us. Classics-Based Writing with Janice Campbell is a writing class for middle and high school students that studies 11 short classical pieces. Students will gain a greater appreciation for classical literature and be able to recognize excellent writing and understand various literary terms and techniques. Their vocabulary will expand, and they will become more comfortable using various reference tools. Each lesson consists of a deep reading of the piece, copying, and transformation. Other great writings from which we can learn are found in the TOS Back Issues for the years 2014, 2013, 2012, and 2007-2011. Homeschooling parents who have gone before us, who have paved the way for the liberty we currently have as homeschoolers, have shared advice and stories on topics such as robotics, money, autism, flowers, recordkeeping, freezer meals, adoption, the lost arts, and more. Take advantage of the experience found within the pages.
