Hey Mama Monday: Don’t Worry, God Is Still in Control
Hey, Mama, it’s Monday and I heard you were struggling with some pressing matters. Just wanted to pop in and help you put your eyes on Jesus. He is still on the throne. While the world has gone mad, He is the same—unmovable, unshakable! He is our great and holy God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We get so caught up in the details of our problems, but God has already worked out EVERY last one, in advance. Do you think this current matter surprises Him? Do you think He is fretting over how to handle things? No!
You have already given your cares over to Him (1 Peter 5:7) – they’re securely in His hands – so why do you keep going back and snatching them out again? By fussing over our issues, do they go away? By allowing ourselves to become completely engulfed in the trials of our lives, not even able to breathe, do we glorify God? He wants us to endure, faithfully, to the end. No matter what hits us, our joy is still complete because of Christ. He won. You win!
The problems are there, Mama. That’s right. The trial continues. Yes, it does. But say this today with our Senior Editor of the magazine, Deborah Wuehler: “Lord, I don’t know what to do, but my eyes are on YOU.”
Sounds too simple. Maybe it is. Maybe He wants us to stay quiet in that space. Eyes on Him. Hearts open. He hears, He knows already. And behind the scenes, He is acting. Always moving. His plans for us are good!
Glorify Him today, Mama. Set your eyes on Christ—your Redeemer. He lives. He is not asleep; He misses nothing! He will un-weave this web. I promise you; He will fix it.
Rise up and go about your Monday, knowing that if you are in Him, you will not be shaken.
“I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” – Psalm 16:8.
Sweet Mama, embrace this day, love on your children, respect and cling to your hubby, obey the Lord in all things, and just . . . walk. He promises to do the rest. Set your eyes and heart continually before Him. You will not be shaken. That’s a promise from His word.
