How Did We Get Here?
These days it seems like the laws of our land are always changing. Are the right people making these laws? Are the right processes being followed? How were the original laws developed? Find out all this and more with SchoolhouseTeachers.com. Early American History with A.K. Fielding is a 16-week middle school course that takes a close look at the people who founded America and the documents and writings they left behind. Students are encouraged to read, research, think critically, and analyze. Weekly lessons incorporate geography, history, art, Scripture, formal writing, and more. Students are introduced to historical research through their study of America’s founding. This course ends with the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which is a great segue into Constitution and Bill of Rights. Kevin Mark Smith guides high school students through our Constitution, as well as executive orders and regulations, taxes, and where our rights come from. There are prompts for independent study, term paper assignments, and exams.
