Let’s focus a little today on the elementary grades. SchoolhouseTeachers.com has classes specifically designed for children in these early years. Our Teachers understand the minds of these children, and they plan their lessons accordingly. Elementary Art with Jennifer Hawkins is a brand new course geared toward children in preschool, kindergarten, and elementary school. This course will be broken into units with each unit focusing on a different area of art. The first unit is “Twelve Great Artists.” Each week, one master artist will be studied, including Michelangelo, Picasso, O’Keefe, Rembrandt, Grant Wood, and more. Children will be taught a little bit about each of their lives and what type of medium/style made him/her famous. A suggested reading list and information about some of the artist’s works are also included. Students will have a chance to imitate the artist and create their own work of art in unique and memorable ways. How to Teach Elementary Math with Peter Price helps parents find better ways to teach mathematics. Dr. Price has a passion for seeing children engaging with math and loves helping teachers, including homeschool moms and dads. This course includes videos and worksheets. Many past lessons are available on topics such as subtracting, adding, fractions, dividing, symmetry, critical thinking, times tables, and more.
