Kids and Keyboards
A good education is just as important for the wee ones in our families as the older children, but it tends to manifest itself in a different way for preschoolers. Charlotte Mason Preschool with Brittney Jordan is a course that assists parents with youngsters. They will spend some time observing and interacting with nature, reading and listening to living books, making crafts, looking at fine art, and learning some early academics. Through the six units available, preschoolers will learn about colors in nature, insects, weather, gardening, snow and ice, and birds. When the kids are ready to begin typing on the computer, they can take Keyboarding with David Kimball who instructs middle school and high school students, and upper elementary students if they are ready, in key location and posture, location of letters and numbers. Through 10 weeks of his tested method of a day or week approach to typing, students can achieve a 10- to 45-word-per-minute speed.
