We all want to make our mark on this world in some way. Artists can do that through their creativity, especially when they use markers! This month’s Art Techniques lessons with Brenda Ellis teach students of all ages how to draw with markers. In each of Brenda’s four-week units, she provides a model photo and then drawings that build on each other. Some of the other units available use such mediums as watercolor, colored pencils, tempera paint, pencil, chalk pastels, oil pastels, and charcoal. Everyday Easels is a 5- or 10-day unit study (depending on the subject chosen) that puts art in the context of other subjects—history, vocabulary, geography, writing, Bible, and science—to help those students whose interest in art may only be piqued by understanding the story behind the art or by approaching the art from another direction entirely. Hands-on activities, projects, and assignments inspire students to become involved in the art. More than 75 units are available. You’ll find architecture, paintings, sculpture, photography, and more.
