Making a Joyful Noise…
Some of your houses will be full of music this Christmas. You will have purchased a guitar or a violin for your budding artist, and he will play to his heart’s content on Christmas Day. He may not play well, in the beginning, but you can provide him with the opportunity to learn from the masters. By participating in one of our music courses on SchoolhouseTeachers.com, students will learn the basics and be playing music before the semester is over. Beginning/Intermediate Guitar is led by recording artist Jerry Jennings. Through videos, diagrams, and downloadable pages, students in elementary through high school will begin by tuning and playing basic chords. They will then progress to scales, triads, and more. In Beginning Violin, with professional violinist Nancy Blue, students will receive instruction on how to buy a violin and take care of it, tune it, hold it, and learn the scales. Many lessons will also instill a solid foundation in faith with the music the student is learning. This course is video based with downloadable music sheets.
