More than Just Art
The art courses on SchoolhouseTeachers.com’s are taught by master artists. Brenda Ellis, developer of ARTistic Pursuits art curriculum, currently teaches Art Techniques. She has taught high school, middle school, and upper elementary students how to handle various mediums such as tempera paint, watercolors, chalk pastels, oil pastels, colored pencils, and more. More than just that, though, she teaches students how to texture their work, arrange objects in their work, and so on. Studio Art for Teens is taught by Sharon Jeffus, who owns Visual Manna and has written more than 20 books. Sharon integrates art appreciation with Bible, literature, music, and other core subjects. The most recent lesson looks at bells—the Glasgow Dead Bell, the Liberty Bell, bell towers, Jacquemarts, and much more. This very intersting lesson will teach you more about bells than you would have thought possible. Students will also study works of art that include bells, as well as poems and songs about bells. Additional lessons on Stripes in the Jungle, owls, turkeys, trees, sunsets, rainbows, rivers, and more remain archived so that they can be accessed and enjoyed at any time.
