New Architecture Class

/ / Blog, Schoolhouse Teachers

What is architecture? That is the question our newest SchoolhouseTeachers.com course, Introduction to Architecture by Tammie Bairen, seeks to answer. Her 36-week class is perfect for middle and high school students and will look at the art and science of designing and building structures used for living, working, worshiping, visiting, and traveling. Join us as we explore the pyramids of Egypt, the Brooklyn Bridge, Neuschwanstein, the World Trade Center, Petronas Towers, St. Basil’s Cathedral, the Pentagon, and many more. We’ll tour the ancient past and the modern day with plenty of stops in between.

If you’d like a shorter course that explores some similar themes, check out Reagan Barr’s Classical Archaeology course. This 17-week course focuses on archaeological sites that preserve ancient history and teach us valuable lessons for today. In Reagan’s class, we’ll study the riot in Ephesus, the original Olympics, Pompeii, the Parthenon, and more.
