New Life and Rebirth
We’ve all heard that plants need light for photosynthesis, but have you ever stopped to wonder what the plants do with that light? Get ready for the third month of Botany with Julie Polanco. She’ll take us inside chloroplasts, the sites of photosynthesis within the cells of leaves. We’ll learn about plant cells, discover how plants defend themselves, and take a look at herbal medicines.
In Rhonda Clark’s Renaissance History class last month, we learned that “Renaissance” means “rebirth.” This month we’ll learn about the beginning of the nation of Italy and take a closer look at the various regions of Italy including Venice, Florence, Rome, Milan, Genoa, and Naples. We’ll learn about the importance of the Medici family to the Renaissance and take a trip into Africa.
