Canadian Homeschoolers Show How Nature Grows

The Canadian Schoolhouse hosts an art contest with 48 prizes

GRAY, Tenn., April 13, 2021 -- Canadian families are watching nature grow this spring and capturing their observations in artistic form. Besides learning about God’s creation and honing their artistic skills, they are answering a challenge from the Canadian division of The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine.

The Canadian Schoolhouse is inviting Canadian homeschoolers and their parents to participate in the Show How Nature Grows art contest. Entrants are asked to incorporate their observations of nature into the art media of their choice. Artistic categories are photography, videography, drawing/painting, and creative writing. Age categories are 7–10, 11–14, 15–19, and Parents. Three prizes will be awarded to each age group in all four art categories, for a total of 48 prizes. Entries must be submitted by April 30, 2021 by visiting www.theoldschoolhouse.com/thecanadianschoolhouse/p/how-nature-grows-contest.

Entries will be judged on originality, depiction of growth in nature, and skill with the artistic medium. There is no entry fee.

“When children study nature, they gain an appreciation for the handiwork of God,” explained Gena Suarez, publisher of The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine. “As Canadian families get outside this spring and enjoy creation, our prayer is that it will draw them closer to their Creator.”

To further help families, The Canadian Schoolhouse is giving away an eBook entitled Creative Nature Study: Ideas to Jump-Start or Invigorate Nature Study in Your Homeschool.
