One of our most recent additions on SchoolhouseTeachers.com is Wendy Stoller’s Nourishing Nuggets. Listed under the Dailies tab, Wendy teaches nutrition with fun pre-lesson activities, instruction, vocabulary, homework, and projects to help students learn such things as the building blocks of food, macronutrients, and micronutrients. Take some time to read through the lessons, as we could all use to keep nutrition in mind when food choices abound this time of year. Some other nuggets available on the site come in the form of history in bite-sized chunks—This Day in History. Again, under the Dailies tab, this course can benefit the whole family. Nearly every day of the year has one historical fact associated with it, and further learning can occur through flashcards, questions for further discussion, short fictional stories, living book lists, and hands-on activities. There are even bonus history games available.
