Our world is fascinating! There are so many different people and so much history it is impossible to learn it all. SchoolhouseTeachers.com has some wonderful courses that strive to teach more than just typical history. Imperial Russia with Carol Reynolds is one such course. Geared toward 8th graders through 12th graders, with a new module every other week, Carol takes students deep inside Russia’s history with 45-minute to one-hour videos, lectures, and her own travel experiences. She teaches new terms and concepts and introduces new places and classic art. Her current lessons discuss the poet Pushkin—“Russia’s Most Important Voice”—Napoleon and Russian folk traditions. Everyday Explorers-Canada is found under the Dailies tab and affords students the opportunity to study Canada’s provinces and territories, including historical events, provincial parks, and items of interest in each. Students can take part in enrichment activities to learn more about the culture and the people. After spending a month in each province and territory, students can create an explorer pack—a notebook that will be chockfull of information by the time their travels are through.
