Christine Weller is privileged to work in two divisions of The Old Schoolhouse®. She is the marketing manager for SchoolhouseTeachers.com and the marketing assistant for The Canadian Schoolhouse. She is also one of the co-hosts for the Hey Mama! Homeschool Show, a podcast for The Old Schoolhouse®.

Let’s Learn More about Christine!

What is your favorite resource from The Old Schoolhouse® for helping homeschooling families?

I love The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine! It’s a great source of encouragement for homeschooling parents, plus it includes the latest updates in the homeschooling world and reviews of products to try.

What do you do outside of The Old Schoolhouse®?

I enjoy playing Mario Kart with my two boys, watching movies with lots of popcorn, and being a part of the worship team at my church. I am also a co-host for the podcast Firing Up Faith and Family, a podcast for moms by moms.

Please tell us a little about your family. How many children are you homeschooling?

I am currently homeschooling two boys, ages ten and six. They are in grades 6 and 2.

How long have you been homeschooling?

Homeschooling since birth.

Tell us about your personal homeschool style.

We follow a more eclectic homeschool style in our home.

What three words would you use to describe homeschooling? GRAPHIC  Flexible, responsible, discipleship. Christine Weller Hey, Mama! Homeschool Show; floral background

What have you learned from your homeschooling experience?

I have learned that we learn together as a family. It’s not just about me teaching my kids. I learn things through the process, and my kids see me learning. So it’s a family journey.

What is your favorite homeschool subject to teach?

I love teaching history and the Bible—though they most often go hand in hand!

Are there any homeschool subjects you outsource?

We currently outsource math.

If you could give one piece of advice to homeschoolers, what would it be?

It’s okay to change things up in the middle of the year. Always go with what works for both you and your kids.

Are there any final words about homeschooling you would like to share?

Homeschooling gives you the opportunity to raise your kids the way God intended, without the added agendas presented by society. You give them the values they need to learn as well as academic knowledge while surrounding them in a loving environment as they grow as a family.
