How do we improve our skills? First we must learn, then we must practice. SchoolhouseTeachers.com has opportunities for students to learn and practice. Everyday Copywork, located under the Dailies tab, allows students to practice their printing or writing skills while reading works by Robert Louis Stevenson, Lord Tennyson, and Aesop. There are patriotic and holiday pieces, Bible verses, sonnets, and other famous poems. There are more than 200 units to choose from, and they vary in length and difficulty. Keyboarding with David Kimball introduces students to the keyboard and provides ample practice each week of new information. During the 10 weeks’ worth of lessons, David begins by discussing posture and then breaks down the keyboard into sections—home row, top row, bottom row, shift keys, and the number row. Lessons are presented through audio, video, and written instruction and are geared toward high school and middle school students, as well as those in the upper elementary grades.
