Preparing for the Future

Preschoolers have a vision of the future. Of course, that vision changes daily, if not hourly. When they see a fireman or a veterinarian or a doctor, they want to be that person when they grow up. It’s hard to know when they are that young what God has in store for them. One way to introduce preschoolers to professions they don’t normally have a chance to learn about is ABC What Will I Be? Alecia Francois teaches preschoolers about one profession a week, as well as reinforces the alphabet; hence, the course is 26 weeks long. Printables, hands-on activities, links to resources such as book lists, music, etc., are provided. Some of the most recent lessons discuss swimmers, race car drivers, quarterbacks, and photographers. What should you do if your child develops a strong interest in photography? You should try Michele Peterson’s Photography course. Students of all ages can learn from Michele’s text-based lessons and original photography. Thirty lessons cover the topics of camera functions, composition and elements of design, stretching your skills, and more.
