Put on Those Thinking Caps
There have been some amazing classes over the years at SchoolhouseTeachers.com! When the classes are officially over, they are still available on the site. So, even if you just became a member, your students still have access to an exceptional educational opportunity. Through Carol Topp’s Career Exploration, high schoolers can still take advantage of her sage advice as they think about possible career paths. They will explore how to discern God’s will for their lives, take an inventory of their talents and interests, take some personality tests, and develop a vision for their future. Media Socialization with Lisa Dunne encourages students to think about the role that media plays in society. Complete with midterm and final exams, high schoolers will examine the spiritual, psychological, and sociologic impact of movies, music, and television on the church, family, and the culture. Speaking of culture, Kurt Hoffman’s Social Justice class sensitively delves into a difficult subject that affects our culture today—modern-day slavery. By tracing the history of slavery and discussing slavery as it exists today, students are emboldened to become proactive in abolishing slavery.
