What’s that you say? Those aren’t the traditional three R’s? That is what makes SchoolhouseTeachers.com stand out from the rest of the curricula available today. We recognize there are many different approaches to homeschooling. We have courses to fit virtually every need. How to Write and Produce a Play with Marci Hanks is a 29-week course for middle and high school students in which they learn organizational and memorization skills, along with learning how to speak in front of an audience. The first semester is spent writing a play, covering topics such as the type of play, the characters, problems, plot, setting, dialogue, and more. The second semester covers play production, including rehearsals, props, costumes, set design and building, etc. Worksheets, slide shows, and examples are provided. Literature Kits with Marla Schultz focuses on a different book every two months. There are more than a dozen books available. Marla ties each book into language arts, hands-on activities, recipes, history and geography, Bible, science, and more. Elementary and middle school students will read Call It Courage, All-of-A-Kind Family, Columbus, The Horse and His Boy, The Quiltmaker’s Gift, The Year of Miss Agnes, and others.
