Relishing New Life and Remembering Antiquity
With Easter this Sunday, SchoolhouseTeachers.com has many different articles and lessons that relate to the sacred holiday. Don’t miss the opportunity to read Edwina Moody’s (Kinetic Connections) Easter article. She provides resources for hands-on learning about this important holiday, including unit study links and lapbooking links. Kathy Lee and Lesli Richards of Homegrown Preschool also are talking about Easter. The death and resurrection of Jesus provides the backdrop for discussing new life and forgiveness. Book suggestions for moms and wonderfully crafty ideas for kids are provided. Even those without young children might want to try their hand at some of these crafts.
To have an understanding of how much things have changed (or not) in life or society, it is helpful to take a look back from time to time. Regan Barr does this in Classical Archaeology. This month he is taking us on a tour of inspiring architecture from antiquity including the Parthenon, the Theater, the Basilica, and the Pantheon. High school students can gain credit for this class if they read all of the required material and answer the questions (see the course page for details).
