Rumblings
One of the hottest topics in the field of science—and politics—right now is global warming. Ruth Sundeen is tackling this topic head-on in her full-year Biology course for 8th-12th graders. Specifically, she is discussing global warming, climate change, environmentalism and militant environmentalism, the “natural state,” deforestation, symbiosis, and the case against evolution. This class is taught through lecture and a variety of hands-on activities and labs and reading assignments as well as quizzes. Dr. Sonya Brouillette has been discussing rumblings of another kind—those made by the digestive systems of herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores and how their digestive systems affect their needs. Animal Science is a nine-month course geared toward 8th-12th graders. There are weekly homework assignments, reading assignments, worksheets, and video links.
