So Many Things to Learn, So Little Time
There are so many different things we can choose to learn about; a lifetime is not long enough to learn it all. SchoolhouseTeachers.com tries to provide a wide range of topics in the hopes that your children will find something they love while they are learning. They may even have the opportunity to learn about a subject you didn’t plan on teaching yourself. Kelli Becton in Wildlife Adventures shares her knowledge of amphibians and reptiles. This month she is teaching about sea turtles, frogs, alligators, and snakes. This is a great opportunity to gain some insight into these creatures without needing to have that firsthand experience! Another great thing to know is American Sign Language. There are many people in our community who are hearing-impaired. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to communicate with them? Sandra Heflin spends time this month in ASL teaching conversational signs for concepts related to courtesy, greetings, manners, clothes, pronouns, and animals. And who wouldn’t love to know how to take beautiful photographs? Michele Peterson’s Photography class is in its last month, and she will begin this month by discussing the metering modes on the camera and what they are used for. Be sure to go back to previous lessons to benefit from her expertise.
