If you’re looking for an extremely educational and enjoyable history class, join Imperial Russia with Carol Reynolds. This biweekly class is geared toward students in grades 8 through 12 and is located under the Middle/High School tab. Students can learn about important figures, events, and places in Russia during the Imperial period. The most recent lesson teaches students about the life and politics of Catherine the Great. Enjoy some music of the time and learn about famous composers. Learn to recognize various Russian words and phrases, along with pronunciation, as well as literature from the era. This course uses videos, suggested reading assignments, and websites to discuss the concepts in the lessons. Another wonderful history course is Renaissance History with Rhonda Clark. This course, for students in upper elementary through high school, is located under the Pre-K/Elem and Middle/High School tabs. This month, enjoy a discussion about Christmas during the Renaissance period. Learn about the traditions, and step back from the commercialism. Rhonda has provided a wide variety of activities such as worksheets, writing exercises, and reading assignments. Enjoy watching a movie that relates to the lesson, bake a cake, and plan a Twelfth Night Celebration.
