The Foundation and the Freedom
Anything that is going to stand strong needs to start with a strong foundation. Our country began with the colonies. Elementary and middle school students can learn about the founding of the American colonies, beginning with Jamestown in 1607 and covering the colonial period through the French and Indian War in 1759 in Amy Puetz’s American History: Colonization Era course. Sixty daily lessons complete with written text which includes stories of heroes and heroines of the past, Scripture memorization, geography, writing assignments, art, authentic period recipes, and more is available. Please note, this class is a limited time offering and will only be available until September 30.
Once America won her freedom, her founding fathers developed the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Kevin Mark Smith discusses this important document and our rights with high school students. He provides prompts for independent study and term paper assignments, covering such things as executive orders and regulations, taxes, and where our rights come from. A Teacher’s Handbook is included which provides exams, answer keys, and teacher helps.
