The Renaissance . . . It’s What’s New
Though the Renaissance is now a part of history, it introduced many new ideas, music, and art to the people of the time. Students in elementary and middle school can learn about Renaissance History with Rhonda Clark. Through lessons that include printable study text, written assignments, crafts, notebooking pages, lapbooks, links to videos and related maps, and other activities, students will learn about explorers, art, literature, science, monarchs, religion, and the empires of Italy, China, Japan, Russia, Africa, and India from the 1100s to the 1700s.
Students can take a closer look at the music of the Renaissance in If It Isn’t Baroque . . . The History of Western Music. Michelle Martin works with students in all grade levels to study the history of music in the western world, beginning with ancient times in Egypt, Greece, and Rome and progressing through Biblical times, medieval times, the Renaissance, and modern music. The twelve lessons in this course include listening activities and hands-on activities such as making some of the instruments from ancient and Biblical times.
