The Type of Writing
Have your kids ever asked to type an assignment on the computer instead of writing it by hand? There are benefits to both, and both can be improved upon. Everyday Copywork helps students practice their penmanship, in both print and cursive, through copying Bible portions, excerpts of literature, grammar, foreign language, and much more. The exercises come in different lengths, and they vary in difficulty, so they are suitable for many ages. No child is too old to practice his penmanship . . . or too young, as alphabet worksheets for the little ones who are just learning to print are also available. Nearly 150 copywork selections are accessible for preschool through middle school students. If your children like to type, then be sure they take the elective Keyboarding course with David Kimball so they can improve their typing speed and accuracy. Ten weeks’ worth of lessons are taught using audio, video, and written instruction for students in all grades. Some of the topics covered include posture and the home row, the top row, the bottom row, the shift keys, and the number row. Opportunities are provided along the way for practice and assessment of skills.
