The Wonder of Books

/ / Blog, Schoolhouse Teachers

A good book goes beyond the words on the page; a good book launches a child’s imagination, takes him to places he’s never seen, and inspires him to share the experience with others. On SchoolhouseTeachers.com, we have many ways to help your children enjoy the wonder of a book.

Michelle Miller of TruthQuest History draws from her years as a librarian to share a Monthly Reading List with students in all grades. Suggested reading levels are listed for each title as well as a short summary of what the book is about. Each month focuses on books centered on a different theme. This month’s recommendations focus on etiquette. From fun with manners to the civility of George Washington, these are books you don’t want to miss!

Adam Andrews of the Center for Literary Education is taking a closer look at Fishing in the Air by Sharon Creech all this month in his Literature class. Join him as he breaks the book down, analyzes its many parts, and teaches you how to do the same.
