For Lapbooking this month, Niki Coburn McNeil’s lesson on The Selfish Giant is geared toward early elementary children, though older children will probably enjoy hearing the story and completing the activities. Consider having older children read the story each day to the younger ones. The lesson plan is a bit different as it is not broken up into weekly lessons. There is one packet of activities and templates to help you create the lapbook at your own pace this month. Remember that specific instructions for creating a lapbook are provided. Matthew Glavach’s Reading Lessons this month include WORD ATTACK POSTERS that can be used to help strengthen your child’s phonics skills. Choose the pathway best suited to your child—analytical or global—and help them improve their reading ability.
