Are you feeling burnt out?
Stressed?
Just really, really tired of all the work it takes to homeschool your kids?
Do you envy the public school mothers who get to drop her kids off everyday and go for coffee?
You know the one... She has a perfect house. She wears nice clothes. She gets to go grocery shopping ALL BY HERSELF!
Do you stay late at Church on Sundays just so you can spend a few more minutes talking to grownups?
Me Too!
Guess what? Good news! You are completely normal!
Whew! Now that we have that all out in the open, Every parent has times in their life when they are overwhelmed with the life the Lord has given them. Homeschooling or not it's a fact of life.
I want to tell you something you need to know;
YOU are LOVED!
You are a cherished child of a loving Heavenly Father! He knows your struggles and your fear and your self doubt. He knows how hard you work to raise the children he has entrusted to your care.
You want to know a little secret? Those public school moms secretly envy you.
No, really they do. They envy you. They see a mom who is brave and strong and smart! They wish they were strong and brave and smart like you too. If I had a dollar for every time a mother of public school kids said, “Wow, you're brave!”, “Homeschooling must be a lot of work. How do you do it?” or “I could never homeschool my kids!” I would be rich!
That mom might just have a tidier house, but it is empty of laughter and the joy of new things learned and discovered.
Maybe she gets to dress all fancy and go grocery shopping on her own, but who is teaching her children the value of money and healthy eating?
There are more benefits to staying at church a little longer after services than you might think. More than just talking to grownups face to face... You are teaching your child you value time and friendships with Godly people. They also learn you value time with God and each child's personal relationship with God because you take them to church, even when it's hard and sometimes weeks go by when you can't remember even one word that was spoken from that pulpit.
Repeat after me;
I am strong, loving and smart! I can do this!
