Many life skills are exhibited in the creation of a business: communication, keeping financial records, budgeting, creative thinking, setting priorities, and self-initiative. Of course, there are others, but these six are the ones that are very important and can be applied to and useful in any business. It may take some time to develop and master some of these skills, but knowing you have these skills will serve you well in business and also in life.
Have you heard the phrase “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life”? The idea behind this is that if you can find a way to make a living by doing something you enjoy, it will be much more enjoyable and feel less like work. Homeschooling is a wonderful way to set our children on the road to this kind of future because it allows them to explore a variety of interests and pursue what excites them. While this may be something academic, it also may not be. It may be something like carpentry, engineering, baking or cooking, sewing, photography, mechanics, or any other monetizable skill.
In Canada, we are blessed to be able to homeschool our children if we see fit. However, the expectations and regulations are not uniform between the different provinces and territories. It can be confusing knowing what you need to do to homeschool and what is expected of you throughout the year. We hope this helps to clear things up for you and to find the information you are looking for more easily. For most of these provinces and territories, we have confirmed this info with not only the government page but also a local homeschooler.
There are inventors all over the world and they all have one thing in common: they used the knowledge they gained to improve or create something to solve a problem. We’re so much more grateful to our very own great Canadian inventors. Do you know any of them?
